Fran Ellis
Specialist Physiotherapist
Fran has over 30 years’ experience working in the fields of musculoskeletal, sports and orthopaedic medicine. She has worked both in the NHS and the private sector and has spent some time working abroad.
Until recently she has been working as an autonomous extended scope physio (ESP) in paediatric orthopaedics.
She has worked independently in this role for the last 14 years and has run the clubfoot and DDH clinics at hospitals across our region as well covering normal variant clinics each week.
Fran’s interests lie in conditions found in babies such as clubfoot and hip dysplasia, but also in paediatric spinal conditions and growth-related deformities.
She currently does some associate tutor teaching at The University of East Anglia on the undergraduate physiotherapy course and is involved in medical student and orthopaedic registrar teaching.
She teaches as part of the faculty on the Global Clubfoot Initiative courses. She is actively involved in local, regional, and national audits and research projects.
Between 2020 and 2024 she held the position of Chair of CYPOTC (Children and Young Peoples Trauma and Orthopaedic Committee - now AHPs at BSCOS). She facilitated, led, and supported the group through this exciting change.
