Helen Jackson

Helen qualified with a first-class honours degree in physiotherapy from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2008. She completed her junior training in a rotational position gaining experience is orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, and domiciliary physiotherapy whilst working for Leeds Community Health Care, before securing a senior position specialising in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions at Humber NHS Foundation Trust. She moved to Cumbria in 2012 to live with her partner, now husband where she continued to work as a Senior Physiotherapist. She joined the Absolute Physiotherapy team in February 2013.
Whilst living in Yorkshire Helen also worked privately for Leeds United Academy and Leeds Ladies first team gaining specialised experience in the assessment and rehabilitation of football injuries. She also worked for a private practice teaching Pilates and treating pregnancy related pelvic girdle and back pain.
In her 17 years of working as a physiotherapist Helen has completed several courses to further her experience. These include McKenzie back assessment and treatment, APPI Pilates, mobilisation of the nervous system, spinal mobilisation (NAGs and SNAGs) dynamic taping and did the training to become a certified Stick Mobility Coach where she went on to provide classes for Absolute. During Covid she was transferred in the NHS to elderly rehab where she found a new interest and since then has reduced her hours in Absolute and increased her hours specialising in this field within the NHS. She still provides Stick Mobility services to Absolute and it is always the hope that we gain her MSK services one day in the future!!
In her spare time Helen tries to fit in regular exercise, especially Karate whilst spending time with her two children, husband, and their dog Eric.
